  • Microsoft ending support for Windows XP today!

    April 8th, 2014

Microsoft logoAs of today, April 8th, Microsoft has ceased all support for Windows XP. This means that while newer computers are safe, older PC's are going to have vulnerabilities that will not be patched up, making the windows XP environment no longer safe. While most of us carry on with our lives, we must realize that 95% of America's ATM's currently run on Windows XP. This means that the vulnerability is most present right where our money moves. So be careful in the coming weeks as further developments roll out.

  • Google Hummingbird

    November 25th, 2013

Google Hummingbird When Google turned 15 years old this September 27th, they quietly rolled out their newest search engine algorithm. This new update builds upon Google Panda and Penguin, and incorporates most of their factors. A search engine algorithm is essentialy a recepie that Google uses to "cook" your search results. Unlike Panda and Penguin, which were updates to the old algorithm, Hummingbird is an entire re-build. The last time Google changed its code so drastically was in 2001.

The biggest addition to the new algorithm is "conversational search", responding to search queries such as "Where is the closest place that I can buy a laptop" by actually searching for "buy laptop" relative to location of the user. This has had a huge impact on SEO, making relevant text an ever more crucial ingredient to search engine success.

If you would like to learn how you can negotiate the new search algorithm on your website, call us today!

  • The Golden Rule of SEO - Content is King

    March 5th, 2013

Popular Search EnginesIt has long been known in the industry of Search Engine Optimization that a website is only as good as its content. If your site is attractive, has great pictures, and is functioning properly, the only reason you may not be generating enough leads is becuase you do not have enough content.

The more content your website has the more it engages the viewer, and the more viewers are engaged the more likely search engines will display your site higher. As of April of 2012 Google began aggressively persuing websites barren of content with the Panda and Penguin updates. Throughout the course of the last year we have seen all other major search engines scramble to catch up with Google. Within the first few weeks of Panda and Penguin 15% of all English language websites had their performance in search results reduced, or they dissappeared from search results entirely.

This is making the Internet a more user-friendly place, with more user-friendly sites coming up first in search results. So the more you can write about what you do, how you do it, and why you're the best choice, the better.

If you think your website's ability to be found has been affected by recent Google algorithm changes, call us today! We specialize in salvage operations. Even if your site has been blacklisted, there are still options available. Call 610 738-0800 today!

  • Identity Verification Confirmed to Impact Search Results

    January 25th, 2013

In leaked sneak peeks of Eric Schmidt's new book, "The New Digital Age", the Google Executive Chairman admits what we have been suspecting - content created by a verified identity will rise in search results. Social Media websites such as Google+ are an identity verification network.  As thisnetwork grows, content associated with a verified identity will rise to the top of Google search rankings. As the Wall Street Journal quotes Schmidt:

Within search results, information tied to verified online profiles will be ranked higher than content without such verification, which will result in most users naturally clicking on the top (verified) results. The true cost of remaining anonymous, then, might be irrelevance.

This has vast implications in terms of how websites will score in 2013. Contact us to learn more about how you can enhance your online identity to stay ahead of the ever changing SEO curve.
